The Maiombe Forest is one of the largest forests on the African continent and is known for its rich biodiversity. It is the second largest rainforest of its kind in the world and extends across Angola, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Gabon.
The evergreen rainforest in Central Africa is one of the world’s wealthiest areas for biological diversity with over 10,000 animal species including the existence of the human race. The forest is blessed with many rivers and mountains that give it a spectacular view. The forest serves as home to many forest tribes including the Yombe people of Congo and the Mayombe people spread across the four main countries. The people live in isolation from civilization and move around the forest depending on seasons.
